Dear Friends and Supporters of FNSP,

As our community and world face this unprecedented health crisis, we want to take a minute to update you on how we are working to ensure that some of the most vulnerable members of our community continue to receive the nutritious meals they depend on – today and in the future.

We all know that every living being on our planet is affected by this crisis- but as in any crisis, there are certain communities that will be affected more direly by the immediate health impact and by the resulting economic impacts in the future.

The health of our guests, staff and volunteers are our primary concern and we have been closely monitoring the situation and strictly following guidelines set out by the CDC. Last Friday, we shifted our evening meal service from our traditional dining-in model to a take-out service to ensure minimal contact and risk of exposure. This week we are working with a very small volunteer crew to prepare meals and will be distributing them again as take-out meals with extra precautions on limiting contact and congregating of groups. We are working on a daily basis to find the safest and most humane solutions in these trying times.

FNSP has also cancelled our Spring Gala, It’s A Masquerade, which was scheduled to take place on May 9. We want to thank all of those individuals and businesses who supported the gala this far- we will be reaching out to you individually regarding your donations. FNSP depends on this event to raise one-third of our annual operating costs – this leaves us with a nearly $30,000 deficit to make up for this Fiscal Year.

If you can – please consider making a donation here to support FNSP today. Our community will need us now more than ever and we want to make sure we are here to serve them through the crisis and beyond.

Thank you for your support of FNSP and please be safe and well!

Sincerely,

FNSP Board of Directors and FNSP Staff
