KITCHEN MANAGER- Elaina smith

Elaina T. Smith is a Virginia native who has proudly lived in NC, NYC, Newark, Memphis, and, now for the second time, Boston. Her food ways are inspired by memories of family and church folk cooking in both daily and special settings- her mother's gentle stirring of lima beans and her father's admonition to eat more sweet potatoes, a friend pressing out cookies, aunts proudly showcasing their sides and desserts for holidays, her grandma's prized "Heavenly Chocolate Cake." Elaina is happy to share the beauty of community and storytelling through food with FNSP.

Elaina holds a M.Div from Union Theological Seminary in NYC, an STM from Boston University, and is halfway through a D.Ministry in Pastoral Counseling. She has worked in a number of settings across the continuum of care for adults without housing, and recently completed a clinical/ACPE chaplain residency. A current theological project explores the faith implications of correlations between depression and nutrition-connected health disparities.

In general, Elaina would love to hear about your plants and what coffee you're drinking.
