Volunteer
Without the help of volunteers FNSP would not exist. Volunteers provide an invaluable service to those in need by preparing and serving much-needed meals in an environment of safety, dignity, respect, and camaraderie. Volunteering provides a meaningful and convenient way for people to “give back” to the community, and it is a wonderful way to meet and work with people who share your concern for helping others. Volunteering also provides a valuable educational opportunity for individuals and groups who want to learn more about and advocate for the end of hunger and related social issues.
Volunteer with FNSP
Individuals and groups, such as churches and corporations, are all invited to
volunteer with us!
- Orientation is mandatory for all new volunteers and is usually held on the first and third Friday of each month at 5pm at FNSP. To sign-up for the next orientation please email: volunteers@fridaynightsupper.org.
- All volunteers (group or individual) are required to complete the Voluteer Registration Form.
Volunteer Policies
FNSP would like to welcome all those interested in volunteering.
However, for safety reasons we do have restrictions on volunteer eligibility:
- Age requirement: It is FNSP policy that all volunteers must be 18 years of age, or older. Individuals wishing to volunteer that are 13-15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Those who are 16-17 must be accompanied by a chaperone or group chaperone and must have a permission slip signed by a legal guardian. People under the age of 13 that wish to volunteer are encouraged to volunteer for our special events such as the Walk for Hunger or our First Night celebration.
- Legal status: FNSP does not accept volunteers that fall into the following categories:
- Completing court mandated community service
- Convicted of a felony
- Actively using FNSP meal services
